Harpursville Senior Andrew Kimmel was selected to play for the East in the 24th Ernie Davis Senior Classic, Thanksgiving Eve at Union Endicott’s Ty Cobb Stadium. The annual all star game is designed to showcase the top senior football players in Section IV. The game is named in honor of the late Ernie Davis, a graduate of Elmira Free Academy who later starred at Syracuse University and became the first African-American athlete to win the Heisman Trophy.
Andrew has been a three year starter for the Hornets at linebacker, fullback, and long snapper. As one of the Team Captains, his leadership was a driving force behind Harpursville’s 7-2 record this past fall. Andrew’s accomplishments and work ethic have drawn the attention of many colleges and he looks forward to continue playing at the next level.
