During the annual Moving Up Day, June 12, Devon Dean and Shelby Medovich were awarded a trophies for the Male and Female Athletes of the Year.
Devon’s accomplishments include the following:
Football: Devon played on the varsity football team for four seasons. He was selected as a Division all-star 3 times. In his senior year, he was the first player in school history to be chosen 1st team Class D – NYS All State Team. He was also named by the Press and Sun Bulletin to be a member All Elite 24 and last December, at the Ernie Davis Exceptional Senior Classic, he was named the co-MVP. Devon ended his high school career as the school’s all-time leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns.
Basketball:
Devon played three seasons on the varsity basketball team and was named First Team MAC All-Star after this last season. He led the team in scoring with a 16.8 ppg. average.
Baseball:
He played parts of 4 seasons on varsity. Selected as an all-star 2 times. And was voted best catcher in the league 2 years in a row. He finished his baseball career with the most stolen bases in school history and with the most people thrown out trying to steal on him.
Shelby’s accomplishments include the following:
Basketball: Shelby was a two-time NYS Final Four Participant, a two-time BCANY Summer Hoops Festival – Southern Tier Team member, a New York 2nd Team All Star and a MAC 1st Team All Star
Track: Shelby holds the school record for the 200m Run, the Pentathlon, the high jump and the 4x400m relay.
