At Harpursville, The Hornets rushed for 339 yards and 23 first downs. Harpursville scored 20 unanswered points to start the game, the first touchdown coming on an Andrew Kimmel 34-yard run in the first quarter. Steven Lee continued the scoring for the Hornets with a 10-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, and Devon Dean pushed the lead to 22-0 with a 15-yard run in the second quarter.
Zach Gingerich got Waverly on the board with an 80-yard kickoff return and cut the Harpursville lead to 22-8 after a two-point conversion.
Lee answered with his second touchdown of the game, this one from one yard out to push the Hornet lead to 28-8 at the half.
Waverly quarterback Peyton Miller connected on a 38-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Perry in the fourth quarter to pull within 28-14 but the Wolverines would not get any closer.
Lee finished with 82 yards on 21 carries and two scores. Kimmel added 153 yards on 22 carries and a touchdown, and Devon Dean rushed for 104 yards and a score on 18 carries.
Miller finished the day 19-for-24 for 161 yards and a touchdown.
